The word consistent is defined as “acting or done in the same way over time, especially so as to be fair or accurate,” and “compatible or in agreement with something.” Creating a consistent brand involves creating experiences that are similar, accurate and aligned with your brand values, all of which can be effectively achieved through content creation.

According to Lucidpress, brands that are consistently presented are 3 to 4 times are more likely to experience brand visibility and the average revenue increase attributed to always presenting the brand consistently is 23%, so creating content consistently and often is an extremly effective strategy to increase your brand visibility and ultimately, your revenue.

60% of US millennials expect consistent experiences when dealing with brands online, in-store, or by phone, but how is creating consistent content the key to providing these experiences?

1. Content establishes expertise

Content, whether consistent or not, will establish your knowledge and expertise of a certain subject. Being able to clearly articulate information about your industry tells your audience that you know what you are talking about and have the expertise to provide helpful, informative content on the regular!

2. Consistency means reliability

What customers want is a brand that they can rely on. Just like showing up to work every day proves to your boss that your reliable, or being there consistently for someone shows that you are a reliable friend, regularly showing up for your customers when you say that you will is a sure fire way to ensure to them how reliable you are!

3. Consistency increases trust

Your personal brand is a promise to your clients… a promise of quality, consistency, competency, and reliability. – Jason Hartman

One of the most important things as a brand is that your customers can trust you. If you can consistently deliver on your brand’s promises, you will increase this trust ten-fold each time. If you build an expectation or promise your audience that you will share an update on your new features every month but fail to deliver on this without an authentic and legitimate reason, how will they be able to trust that you will deliver next time? Don’t be the brand that cried wolf - follow through on your commitments!

4. Consistency creates clarity

The last thing that you want as a brand is for your customers to be confused about who you are, what you do or what you stand for. Creating consistent content that discusses and represents these things will ensure that this never happens. Your audience won’t be able to doubt your brand’s values or the purpose of your business if you are consistently writing articles, creating videos or sharing information that tell your story and solidify their perception of you.

5. Consistency fosters loyalty

Once you have been creating consistent content for a while, you will become the go-to brand for your customers. If you’re creating engaging content that your audience loves, they will keep on coming back for more, turning to you as their source of information, education, entertainment or community, depending on the purpose of your content. Keep it up and they won’t ever have a reason to look elsewhere for the product or service you provide!

As the sayings go, consistency is key and content is king! Creating consistent content is the key to your brand’s success so get out there, start creating and keep it consistent!
