10 Places to Find the Best Fonts for Your Brand

People attribute personality to fonts, so it’s important to choose the best fonts for your brand so that your typography matches your tone, but where do you even go to find fonts when you need them? I’ve got you covered with 10 of my top type tools that will help you to complete your branding with some fab fonts in no time!

Please note that whether the fonts on these sites are free or paid, you need to pay attention to the license you are granted when downloading or purchasing them. Some fonts will allow you to use them for personal use only; others will grant you a full commercial license; some will restrict the amount of computers, websites or products you can use them on, or there may be other specifics involved.  It’s important to always be aware which license you are obtaining so that you don’t land yourself in any legal trouble in the future. ADOBE TYPEKIT

If you or your designer are already using Adobe Creative Cloud, then Adobe Typekit is probably the best place to start. These fonts are included within your Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, available on the web or in your desktop applications, and allow you to freely use any font without worry about licensing.

You can download or sync full typefaces or individual fonts, search by classification, sort by the various font properties, and easily apply these fonts to your website or designs in seconds!

GOOGLE FONTS

All fonts in the Google Fonts catalog are free and open source, and they take care of all the licensing and hosting for you, so you don’t have to worry! Browse over 800 font families, sort via categories, styles and properties, and then download, embed or code your chosen fonts for whatever use you need!

TYPEQUALITY

Typequality is a platform for discovering and sharing typefaces designed by women. The graduate project of Kimberly Ihres, the site allows you to both submit and find female-designed fonts from all over the world. Typequality is a curated list of typefaces with each link taking you to the individual designer’s page to download the fonts. If, like me, you’re all about supporting female creatives, this can be a small way to make a big difference!

BEHANCE

Buying directly from independent type designers is a great way to support creatives through your purchases. Behance is a platform for people to showcase and discover creative work, including fonts, and allows you to download fonts from the designers themselves if they choose. Simply search for ‘fonts,’ take a look, find one you like and click the creator’s link to download the font.

CREATIVE MARKET

Creative Market is another marketplace for creators to upload their photos, graphics, templates, themes, fonts and more. With over 24,000 fonts you’ll be spoilt for choice! Both Creative Market and Behance are likely to only provide individual fonts rather than full typefaces, so just remember that this is one of the things to look for when choosing which fonts to use and be aware of the limitations that only having one font weight might have on your brand. If you’re aware of and okay with that, then you’re good to go!
